Why Rosetta Stone?

The question is often asked, why is the best selling language software in the world called Rosetta Stone?

Well, the answer is quite simple. When Napoleon was occupying Egypt at the turn of the 18th century, a French soldier came across a tablet that rosetta stone language software had Egyptian hieroglyphics and Classical Greek. As a result of the stone, historians were finally able to decipher hieroglyphics and begin piecing together Ancient Egyptian history.
