Benefits of Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 and Omega-6 are the essential building blocks of all human functions. We all know about the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids, but did you know that you cannot manufacture your own Omega-3 and Omega-6 so you will have to make sure your diet includes plenty of both. Be warned that our diet of Omega-3 and 6 should be moderate and consist in equal parts, or be a ratio of 1:1. Many doctors think that our diets are already so high in Omega-6 that the Omega-3:Omega-6 ratio may be anywhere from 1:20 to 1:40.
